Kysucká stovka is a real challenge for all those who like ultra trails and long distance marches in more difficuilt conditions. The course parameters and the winter conditions in Kysuce region are the reasons, why Kysucká stovka is ranked among the most extreme ultra events in Slovakia.
The course with total distance of 113 km and total elevation gain of 4700 meters follows the marked tourist paths of Kysucká vrchovina, Kysucké Beskydy and Javorníky mountains (in some sections the course follows own marking only). The start place is in the village Radoľa (close to the check-in in Kysucké Nové Mesto, from where the participants walk together), the finish is in Kysucké Nové Mesto sports hall.
The number of Kysucká stovka participants is limited to 100.
This year it will be already the 7th edition of Kysucká stovka. During the last edition in 2016 the best performance on 127 km distance course was showed by a Czech ultra trail runner - Vít Otevřel (14 hrs and 50 mins). Among the women the record belongs to Petra Mücková (20 hours and 43 minutes done in the same edition of Kysucká stovka). Although the 2018 course has less kilometers and total elevation gain meters as it was in the past, do not forget - the total times can vary very significantly - depending on weather conditions and especially snow amount.
